Around 100 families also join the competition with the youngest participant only aged 2. Over HK$3.2million is raised to support MSF’s worldwide medical relief work.

Executive Director of MSF Hong Kong Mr Rémi CARRIER states that this year not only marks the 10th anniversary of the MSF Orienteering Competition, but also is the 40th anniversary of MSF as an international movement. He emphasises that MSF’s principles of independence, neutrality and impartiality is of utmost importance in the provision of humanitarian aid, especially in conflict settings. MSF teams currently are working hard to provide medical assistance to people affected by violence in Libya and Ivory Coast. The enthusiastic participation in the Competition from the public helps MSF to continue providing medical care to those in need.

Officiating guest and Secretary for Security Mr Ambrose LEE Siu Kwong says with the medical assistance from MSF field workers, victims of armed conflicts, natural disasters and epidemics, and people who lack medical care in around 70 countries can have access to treatment again.
