12-4 | Dr Husni Zainal, MSF Hong Kong president The world is aghast at unrelenting weeks of siege warfare and intense indiscriminate Israeli bombing that killed thousands of people and hit hospitals and medical facilities in Gaza. Our Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) colleagues who keep working in several hospitals in northern and southern Gaza and their families bear witness to the fact that there is no safe place today to survive the horrors of this conflict.
11-29 | On Monday 20 November, two missiles hit a hospital in Selydove, Donetsk region of Ukraine, where five Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) staff were present. Although no MSF staff were harmed, eight people inside the hospital were injured – including two Ministry of Health staff. Tragically, three people have been reported killed when part of the hospital collapsed from the missiles. MSF condemns this attack on a hospital, the second in a week, and once again calls for the protection of medical facilities.
11-22 | Médecins sans Frontières is horrified by the killing of two MSF doctors, Dr Mahmoud Abu Nujaila and Dr Ahmad Al Sahar, and a third doctor working with Al Awda, Dr. Ziad Al-Tatari, following a strike on Al Awda Hospital, one of the last remaining functional hospitals in Northern Gaza. Our thoughts are with their families and all colleagues mourning their death.
11-20 | On 18 November 2023, an MSF staff’s relative died and another one was injured in an attack on an MSF convoy trying to evacuate 137 people - MSF Palestinian staff members and their families. They were trapped for a week in MSF premises located near Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza. MSF condemns in the strongest terms this deliberate attack.
11-13 | Following increased fighting in El Geneina in Sudan’s West Darfur, Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) teams operating across the border in eastern Chad have seen an immediate and major increase in the number of people arriving in the region. 36 wounded people were received by MSF teams over the past weekend alone. Refugees coming from Sudan are mainly women and children, and recount stories of large-scale violence against civilians.
