Treating HIV/AIDS in Myanmar

Barely one in three people living with HIV in Myanmar have access to treatment. MSF provides antiretroviral treatment in several clinics across the country, including the one featured in this slideshow in Dawei, in the south of the country. In 2012, MSF treated over 28,000 people with HIV country-wide. Many more are still in need of treatment. MSF has been working in Myanmar since 1992.

My life with HIV

Being HIV-positive doesn't have to be a death sentence. The vast majority of patients who receive antiretroviral (ARV) treatment can live in relative health and lead fulfilling and positive lives. MSF documented the lives of HIV-positive patients in India, Mozambique and Kenya on HIV treatment in photos and words, they receive the treatment through MSF’s clinic.
