Whilst MSF generally solicits non-earmarked funding that allows us the flexibility to respond to needs wherever and whenever they arise; certain longer-term aid projects do require multi-year funding. These projects include our work tackling worldwide drug-resistant tuberculosis, our ongoing rehabilitation projects in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake, our provision of ART to HIV/AIDS patients, and our conflict-relief activities in Afghanistan.

MSF Day is an annual awareness and fundraising campaign that culminates in a media and VIP-attended Finale ceremony held on the 7th July.
Over the years, many people have contacted the MSF HK office to get information on how to become a field volunteer to work in aid projects around the world. However, due to the specific skill sets required to perform MSF’s field work and the time commitments required from field volunteers (3 – 12 months), many supporters are unable to serve as field volunteers. This is why MSF HK came up with the MSF Day campaign: The campaign appeals to every member of the community to donate one day of their income to MSF. By doing so, all participants become volunteers for MSF on that day.
MSF seeks corporate partners for this campaign, and past sponsors include New World Department Stores, Oriental Watch Company, Convoy Financial Services, Le Sportsac and Hotels.com. - Sponsoring the MSF Orienteering Competition (OC)
Established in 2002, the OC is MSF HK's longest running public event which attracts thousands of participants every year. The purpose of the OC is two-fold: to raise funds for MSF projects around the world, and to raise awareness by creating an environment for participants to experience the hardships faced by patients suffering from man-made or natural disasters in reaching medical assistance. With maps and compasses, participants are required to search for as many assigned checkpoints as possible within a given period of time. Participants usually compete as part of a team; and the Competition is a fun outdoor team-building exercise that concurrently raises funds for charity.
