MSF currently works in about 70 countries for victims of armed conflicts, epidemics, and natural and man-made disasters. Each year, more than 2,000 MSF volunteers are sent to different parts of the world to provide medical aid. In many remotes areas, our volunteers may need to travel through inhospitable terrain to reach isolated populations. They have also witnessed patients walking for days to reach the MSF clinic.

In January 2002, MSF organised the first MSF Orienteering Competition. The competition allows participants to glimpse the hardships faced by victims of disasters, and the challenges that MSF faces during relief operations. With the support of Hong Kong public, MSF Orienteering Competition has become the largest orienteering competition in Hong Kong for eight years.
