Fifteen years ago, around 260 thousand of Islamic Rohingyas fled from Myanmar to Bangladesh because of discrimination, violent intimidation, and forced labour. Today, these Rohingyas in Bangladesh are trapped – they cannot return to Myanmar, nor can they obtain refugee status in Bangladesh. With little water, food, and medical support, they struggle to survive in unhygienic temporary shelters, away from public's attention.

MSF will organise Trapped for 15 years – a photo exhibition on Rohingya refuges in Bangladesh in late September, featuring photographs from renowned singer Paul Wong, who was invited by MSF to visit the Bangladeshi township of Teknaf. Through his camera, the Rohingyas' desperate situation and uncertain future are brought alive.
