2-26 | As violence continues to spread throughout the northwest of Central African Republic (CAR), Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) teams have opened a new project in Bouar, a town which has been severely impacted by the conflict and its consequences. Today, around 6000 people remain trapped and unable to flee. For the last month, MSF has been supporting the hospital in Bouar.
2-26 | Between Wednesday and Friday last week, an MSF surgeon helped treat 20 wounded at a health facility in Kiev, following violent clashes between anti-government protestors and police that left at least 77 people dead and hundreds wounded. The surgeon provided minor surgery for bullet- and blast wounds as well as fractures. In the coming days, MSF will reinforce its emergency team with additional staff in order to be prepared for changing needs in this fast-paced context.

2-17 | Since early December, MSF has provided medical care to over 1,000 patients wounded by violence in and around Bangui airport, where approximately 100,000 displaced people have taken refuge from a wave of fighting that has spread across the country. In the past week alone, 100 patients were treated for bullet and machete wounds. MSF is carrying out over 1000 medical consultations in the camp every week, and also provides care in other camps and health facilities in the city.
