3-31 | People living in Cabo Delgado, Mozambique’s northernmost province, have experienced violent attacks by non-state armed groups since 2017. Some 2,400 people have reportedly been killed and some 668,000 people are currently displaced from their homes, mostly within the province but also in neighbouring provinces. Over the past year, the conflict has intensified, and the displaced people’s needs for shelter, food, healthcare and other basic services are growing fast.
3-31 | In recent weeks, tens of thousands of displaced people have arrived in cities in the conflict-hit region of Tigray, northern Ethiopia. They join others who arrived earlier and are staying in schools and empty buildings, in poor conditions and without basic services. Many have already been displaced multiple times since November.

3-10 | Since the start of the war in Syria 10 years ago, the lives of Syrian people have been under threat. Back in 2011, the situation quickly shifted from localised protests to a full-scale war, leading to a devastating humanitarian situation that persists a decade later. In the course of 10 years, 12 million Syrians – half the pre-conflict population – have been forced to flee the conflict and leave their homes behind, often multiple times, making it the biggest displacement crisis of this century.
