More than 150,000 people are currently being vaccinated near Conakry, the capital of Guinea, where a cholera epidemic has broken out.
For the first time, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is responding to a cholera outbreak in Africa by carrying out a mass vaccination campaign. In Guinea, MSF team is using an oral vaccine to limit the spread of the disease. The first two phases of this campaign began on April 18 in the Boffa region, near Conakry.

A massive increase in malaria cases in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is overwhelming existing prevention and treatment efforts, demanding an urgent and stepped-up response, the international medical humanitarian organisation Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) said today.

Members of the civilian population are the first victims, but aid actors are also directly targeted. "The situation is not stabilizing in Kivu. 4-5 | On the morning of Wednesday, April 4, two Médecins Sans Frontières(MSF) staff members—Cedric, a nurse, and Marius, a logistician—were kidnapped near Nyanzale in North Kivu Province while traveling by car.
Hours later, they were released unharmed.
Given the seriousness of this incident, MSF evacuated its team working in the hospital Nyanzale and in two health centers in the area.
