12-24 | The people of Southern Sudan are trapped in a worsening crisis, following the most violent year since the 2005 peace agreement that ended more than two decades of civil war with the North. 12-10 | In Malakand district, in Pakistan's North West Frontier Province, the local population has been affected by conflict between the Pakistani army and armed opposition groups. Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), one of the only international organisations present in this region, has supported a sub-district hospital in Dargai, since 2006. An MSF medical team (comprising doctors and a surgeon, anaesthetist, nurse and gynaecologist) works with Ministry of Health staff in the hospital's emergency room, operating theatre and inpatient department.
